OUR VEHICLES VS. RETROFIT VEHICLES
At GGT, we have two main ways that drivers can GO electric.
There are our Urban Electric Vehicles (UEVs), a wide range of street-legal cars and trucks that are completely electric - no hybrids, no fossil fuels, no dependence on oil whatsoever. These vehicles cost 80% less to operate than gas-powered cars and trucks, emit zero harmful emissions, and can be plugged into any standard 110-volt outlet. Just plug in and go. It's that easy.
These vehicles are just like every day cars, trucks, and vans, based upon the micro auto technology that’s been proven on the streets of Europe for more than twelve years, and they don't skimp on comfort, features, or style. Urban electrics meet all U.S. federal safety requirements for a low speed vehicle (or LSV), which means they have a regulated maximum speed of 25 mph (40 km/h) and can be operated on streets with speed limits of up to 35 mph. These cars and trucks are perfect for urban and suburban drivers who do the majority of their day-to-day driving on surface streets and in neighborhoods, areas where the benefits of clean, quiet electric technology really becomes apparent. They're an all-green, responsible, economical addition to any business, fleet, or household.
But, if highway driving is a must, GGT also offers a wide spectrum of Retrofit Electric Vehicles - in other words, we take existing cars and trucks right off the dealer's lot and turn them electric for you. This way, you get all the benefits of an all-electric vehicle with none of the highway restrictions. These are electric cars you can drive whenever, wherever, and however you like.
We replace the normal engine with an electric motor, controller, and batteries, allowing it to be driven on any road you please. Rather than letting today's cars and trucks rust while we wait for the next generation of promised gas-electric hybrids - which will still emit harmful emissions - we can take those vehicles, keep everything we love about them, and get rid of everything we don't. We can keep the comfort, safety, and features we've come to rely on and get rid of the noise, the emissions, and the spiraling fuel bills that seem to get worse every year. Plus, if that wasn't enough, the retrofitting also extends the life of the vehicle by an additional five to seven years, all thanks to our safer, cleaner, cheaper electric alternative. That's win-win, in our books.
